I did night security at the Creek Beach in Bayville from 1995 to 1999. Every morning at about 6:30, Norm would wake up and walk into the street in front of his house and wave his hand high in the air to get my attention. I was in my truck at the beach, but was close enough to his house to be able to see him waving at me. I would lock my truck up and go and hang out with him until my shift ended at 8 A.M. I got to spend time with Norm in his garage, driveway & garden. I helped him with his woodworks and played with his dog and we would get into long discussions about Bayville's history. I got to do this with him 7 days a week. He gave me fresh vegetables from his garden. My Father always talks about how Norm built the best fishing rods he's ever seen. He raved about that. I remember going to Norm's Tackle Shop back in the 70's & 80's. Those were great days. I am honored to have known Norm and grateful that I got those 4 years to spend time with him. I am deeply saddened by his passing. I will miss him greatly, for the remainder of my life and look forward to spending time with him again, in Heaven. Rest in Heaven Norm.
