Mrs. J. C. Lawrence posted a condolence

Life is a peculiar and winding road. I did not know Mr. Pascuma well, but I did meet him once, at my late husband's Thoroughbred breeding farm in Nissequogue, on Long Island. Today, I was washing a souvenir 'double old fashioned' glass that a friend gave me ... the glass is decorated with a Racing Form motif - black race charts, black racehorse silhouettes, highlights of gold foil. As I was drying the glass, I spied the name of I horse I knew! Charlie Coast - a bay horse, a foal of '75, that Mr. Pascuma trained for Bette Karlinsky. Charlie Coast stood at stud for a short time in the US, then was shipped to Venezuela. Seeing the horse's name on the glass made me think of 'his connections' ... and I 'googled' Warren Pascuma ... only to learn that he passed away in January of this year. What a long and prosperous life he had, and how nice to learn he had his family and still lived on Long Island, when he passed. I just wanted to offer my condolences.

I offer my condolences to a wonderful man who extended the greatest of care towards me in my times of grief. When I lost his nephew, Charlie, he sat next to me at the funeral and kept patting my hand. When I lost my mother-in-law and his sibling...he tried to comfort me, and care for me (remember, eat, here have mine, eat). What a wonderful man. I will miss him. Michelle

Dear Gale & Denise,
I was very fond of your father, my Godfather. He was an accomplished horseman that we were all proud of. He so loved and spoiled you and his grandchildren. Both of you were loving and caring daughters, and should be so comforted by that. Uncle Warren also had a nice sense of humor that was enjoyed by all.
He will be missed.
Love,
Carol Pascuma Ball

Dear Denise and family ....all of us were saddened to hear of your father’s death. Our hearts share your grief and we have some consolation that our dad is up in heaven with his best buddy Warren now, undoubtedly handicapping races together again! Please know that we’ll be thinking of you all tomorrow but due to the distance we won’t be able to attend the services. If you have designated a charity in his honor, please let us know.
With love and sincere condolences...Lisa Mustone
