Obituary of Albert Norman Simpson

Albert Norman Simpson of Glen Head, NY. (Norm) was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on January 18, 1928. Surrounded by family, Norm (age 92) went home to be with the Lord on February 1st, 2020.  

Beloved husband of Nanette; loving father of Linda Gardiner, Laurie Schaefer (Phil), Suzanne Uhrynuk (Mark), Jennifer Allen (David); grandfather of Will Gardiner (Colleen), Graham Gardiner (Alex), James Gardiner, Emily Uhrynuk, Annabel Uhrynuk, Jack Allen, Sam Allen, and great-grandfather of Catherine Gardiner; brother of Barbara Riske, Catherine Binning, and James Simpson (Susan), brother-in-law of Jim Upton,  as well as uncle to numerous nephews and nieces.

After graduating from Kansas State University, Norm went to work for the Soil Conservation Corp on the eastern shore of Maryland. His career changed direction and he eventually made his way to Wall Street where he worked for Merrill Lynch for thirty-five years.

Norm’s main calling was in service to others and to his brothers and sisters in Christ. He served as an elder at the Glen Head Meeting House for many years, and for the past seven ears, Norm and Nan found their faith home with those at the North Shore Christian Fellowship. 

From the postman to those in high places, Norm never shied away from sharing his faith or his wonderful sense of humor. A servant leader, a confidant, and devotee to God’s Word, Norm left us all better off for knowing and loving him.

A Memorial Service for our brother, Norman Simpson, has been scheduled to take place at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at:

                                                                Huntington, NY  11743

We know that Norm's desire would be that this Service (in connection with his disease), should honor the Lord Jesus, for whom he lived.  Let us pray to this end.
