My sincerest condolences go out for you Mark, and your family. There is so little one can say, so little one can do when you have lost a loved one and one so dear to you. It troubles me a lot to learn of Claudia’s passing as I don’t handle this part of life well. She was such a bright light and a wonderful person. Many send many sympathetic thoughts and prayers your way as I share in your loss.

Mark,
My condolences to you and your family.
I always remember Claudia as a blooming rose among our Glen Cove highschool friends.
Was 1977-1979 really that long ago?

I remember running in the 50 Mile Club with Claudia in 6th/7th grade. She and I were the only girls. I was so grateful she was there with me. She was always smiling even after the drudgery of a long run.
My deepest condolences to Claudia’s family. I feel lucky to have known her.

Yesterday I said goodbye to an amazing person that touched my life. She was probably the strongest, most courageous, caring, kindest and loving person I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. She was an incredible mother, a great cook and the best friend anyone could ask for. She had the BEST laugh, The best smile and was so beautiful. She had this light about her always and made everyone she came in contact with feel as if they were super special. I will miss her dearly. But I know one day we will meet again.
Yesterday during the beautiful service the minister asked for us to stand up and tell a memory or a thought of Claudia. I wanted to so badly but I knew I would never be able to get the words out. I was trying so hard to be strong for her and for her incredible daughters Christina and Diana.
But here is a little something:
I will never forget the 1st time I had the pleasure of spending time with her around 18 years ago. My 5 year old came home from her 1st day of kindergarten telling me about her "best friend" Diana. Apparently Diana did the same when she got home so Claudia and I set up a play date for the girls.
After that 1st play date, the girls were inseparable and Claudia and I became close friends. We spent so many days together alone as well with the girls. We developed this incredible extended family. We did a lot together from school events, sports, holidays and so much more.
Our 3 girls were so much like sisters. In fact so much so that my daughter was featured on a Delgrosso Christmas card! Claudia always called her the 3rd sister!
I love her girls as if they are my own. I will always be there for them whenever they need me.
My love, prayers and sincerest condolences to all who loved Claudia

My deepest condolences to the family, losing a daughter, a sister, a mother, and a friend can empty a space on the outside, but our hearts can always contain the memories and love we had for Claudia, may she rest in peace and love..

My heartfelt condolences for Claudia's family,
Even now the memory of her radiant smile lights up my heart and the world. Surely her transition form earthly angel to celestial one was not that great a leap. So many memories of laughs we had together as we grew and learned. I am fortunate to have shared some part of my journey in life with her. May her memory always be a blessing.
Love,
Susan Stone

Remembering you with so much love. You were an angel on earth. Your smile was a beacon that made everyone else smile. You shined your light so brightly, it gave others permission to shine theirs. My heart is heavy. I’ll never forget you, sweet Claudia.

January 6th
By Rachel Alvarez
The skies wept for you today
It's tears intermingling with our own
And yet, an ocean of this grief
Would not be sufficient
To prove to you
Just how much you were loved
And the depth of the imprint
You left on each of our hearts
One of the kindest souls
to walk the earth
Your journey has come to
It's destination
And while you rest and renew
To watch over us all
I hope that you know:
All those who had
The privilege of knowing you
Drank in the beautiful light
You cast about yourself
And were all the more blessed
Because of it
Words cannot describe
How much you'll be missed
By friends and family
Our hearts broken but loving still
Loving you limitlessly
I hope that you know
Your legacy lives on
In the hearts and minds of those
Who were given the opportunity
To know your grace and graciousness
Star of our hearts
Loving and beloved
We remember you always
And until we see you again
Your name will be sung
I want you to know
I love you and
You made a difference

My deepest, deepest condolences to Claudia's family. I have known Claudia since 7th grade, and while we (sadly) mostly lost touch after college I have only wonderful memories of her. I remember one time she was coming over to my house after school and we were walking home & just laughing and laughing about the Paul Simon song "Loves Me Like a Rock". For some reason that struck us as funny "loves me like a rock, loves me like a brick, like a tree..." We were hysterical laughing & to this day I cannot hear that song without smiling.
This photo is from 2008 - at the Memorial Day Parade in Glen Cove. With our mutual friend Holly Hepp Galvan.
May her memory always be a blessing.

To all of Claudia's family:
I am so very sorry about the loss of Claudia. She was a very special person to everyone who knew her. Ever since high school when I think of Claudia I think of all the laughs and fun times we had together. The attached photo is a reflection of a typical time with Claudia, this one from appr. 1980 at Nathan's gameroom in Oceanside NY. Her dear friend Holly was usually part of that fun. She will be missed very much and my sincere condolences go out to each of you.
