Glenn was my constant companion during Planning Board meetings since I began working in Glen Cove in 2006. He was always generous with offering his advice and guidance in a friendly and constructive manner, and always willing to speak his mind candidly. My condolences to his family and friends. I will sorely miss him.

It would take a long hour to try to describe Glenn Howard. He was a multifaceted and highly respected man of uncommonly impressive intelligence. To meet Glenn, it was definitely an experience; it wasn't just, "Oh I think I met him," but more like, "I absolutely remember that guy!" because he was loud and funny and always had something valuable or funny to say.
Glenn possessed encyclopedic knowledge of a multitude of subjects, from biology, of course, to Robert's Rules of Order, local and national government, law, language, chemistry and much more. He was an extremely invaluable resource for Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club where he was tirelessly volunteering for decades. But the thing I will miss most about him is his amazing quick wit and the inane banter we enjoyed on his visits to my chiropractic office. We would try to outwit each other and wind up giggling like hyenas! One could always tell from 5 rooms away when Glenn Howard entered the office because he immediately was wisecracking and was the first to laugh loudly at his own jokes. The funniest thing is that for a man of his stature, he could get as basic as could be with dopey slapstick antics and word twisting. He was a master at word play, and was the wordsmith everyone envied when a letter needed to be written. But he was goofy as ever and indulged in juvenile antics like wearing his flashy COVID handlebar moustache mask upside down and then joke about how his head was upside down! He had so many gifts that there's a lot to miss about him. He loved his grandson Thomas dearly and always talked about him. That is for sure. I'm guessing he's clowning around in heaven and teaching everyone everything there is to know about anything.
Glenn will live on in our hearts through all the wonderful memories we have of him.
My heart goes out to Angela and the family. It's a terrible and painful loss.

After reading the live chats during the funeral, and the Tributes, here, I think my collected memory of Glenn would be best summed up by giving him the title: "THE SAGE of Glen Cove."

Our deepest condolences to Angela and the Howard family. Glenn and I became very close over the last few years while working on several fundraisers together. Glenn truly kept our club in order. Always providing "Service above Self" His guidance and wit will be missed but not forgotten. Please let Thomas know his Grandfather always spoke of him with pride and will continue to be his guiding light throughout life.
Rest in Peace Friend,

Uncle Glenn was a good man with a booming voice. Whenever I think of him, the first thing I think of his hearty laugh. He adored his family and community, and of course cats and birds. I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed.

My deep condolences to the Howard family. I met Glenn when I joined Pall Corporation in 1987 and developed a good relationship with him over time. He was an excellent example of the true scientist with deep integrity, and was dedicated to the company and the people. I developed a deep respect for him and valued his opinion and his judgement. He was a helpful, humorous person, and we often went out after work for a relaxing discussion on various topics. I shall miss him; may he rest in peace.

In the snow in Valley Stream - Glenn and Gordon, date unknown. Glenn is on the left, for those who might not recognize him.
Glenn did eventually get taller - around 1959. In Valley Stream.
At our wedding - 1987. San Francisco. The smiles are my family's relief that I finally got married after all hope had been abandoned. (My husband Greg's parents were also relieved)
From right to left: Holly, Glenn, Dad, Greg, me, Mom, Gordon (He also got taller.)

Glenn didn't mince words and everyone who came in contact with him was better for it (whether they knew it or not :)). Glenn was my litmus test, if I could get it past him then having the conviction that it was right was easy. One of his biggest lessons was that you are entitled to speak your mind, just ensure you are speaking with facts because he would call you on it every time if you weren't. He was a wealth of knowledge and he loved sharing it and a wonderful and tremendous human being. Condolences to his family and friends. His passing is felt very deeply, you will be missed sir.

Glenn was a true friend and mentor to me for almost 30 years. I owe a great deal of my career to his guidance, and sensible approach to science. I will always remember him for his assertiveness and a laugh that was both loud and very infectious :-) I offer my sincere condolences and message of comfort to the Howard family, from Glenn's other (Pall) family. He will be missed by all.

I can hardly imagine the world without him. He was such a font of historical Pall knowledge and was always willing to share it and help out. He had such a hearty laugh. You knew when he was in the building and it always brought a smile - and a rush to ask him questions. He will be so missed. I can't imagine the sorrow for his family but know he was well loved and respected by his coworkers, especially everyone who worked in or with the labs. He was a kind and knowledgeable man.
