Obituary of Heather Buccello
We lost a beloved mother, wife, friend and mentor Heather Buccello, on January 14, 2021. She was born and raised in St. John, Antigua in 1956, and found her way to New York as a teenager. She found her husband while working on Wall Street, balancing Nursing School and being a mom. She left to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse to help people.
Heather worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Women’s Health and a Nursing Instructor in various colleges. She was a practicing Christian with a strong faith in the Lord and was a member of the Greater Allen Cathedral in Jamaica, Queens. Heather was loved deeply by her family and friends for her warmth, genuine kindness, giving heart and hand, excellent cooking of Caribbean and Italian Cuisine, silly jokes and laughs, direct bluntness (even when you did not ask) and her love for dancing (even though she had two knock knees and a partner who did not know how to dance).
She found her dream home in Glen Cove, Long Island where she entertained and hosted gatherings of those she loved. Such as her infamous July 4th barbeques. Throughout all of her success’, the treasure she held most dear was her husband Frank and her two daughters, Nyika and Catherine.
Heather will be missed beyond words, but her beautiful legacy and spirit will live forever within our hearts and spirits.
