To the Bowman family and friends, You have our deepest sympathy at the passing of Hank. WE will miss him. I've worked over 50 years with all types of people, some good and some bad. The bad will cheat you, steal from you in order to make money and make themselves look great. The good will help you in any way they can just because it's the right thing to do. But if your lucky, you find someone with all the qualities you deem important. I was lucky when I met Hank. He had all the qualities and more. I was lucky to meet him and call him my friend. My memories of Mr. Bowman tend to revolve around Boy Scouts in Bayville. He was a regular at the weekly meetings, and at least once at scout summer camp in upstate New York. His approach to the group of us was like his posture: straight up. He was in charge without commanding, no nonsense with a sense of humor (how he managed that I'll never know, but it's true), and devoted to the cause. It was fifty years ago, so my memory is fuzzy. But his presence and involvement is unfaded in my mind.

Hank was always a wonderful neighbor to us. He shared wonderful stories about being in Bayville, gave us the history of East Slope Road and was always a lovely person to speak with. We will miss Hank very much. We will always think of him when the weather gets warm or whenever we see a train. Rest well now, Hank.
