Memories of Bill
I met Bill for the first time a life time ago when he was dating Rosemary and I was dating Clara. I was barely 20 and still in college and he was the more mature mid twenties guy who was already working for a major accounting firm, then known as Haskins and Sells, in Manhattan. He struck me from the beginning as a highly intelligent big guy with a big heart. He conducted his life with purpose and direction and could always be counted on to do the right thing. He was surrounded by a large group of diverse family members, friends, and acquaintances and always seemed to be the quiet solid voice of reason within a sometimes chaotic group. When he, Rosemary, Clara, and I traveled across country to deliver a retired couple’s car to California he was always the first up in the morning to check the oil, tires, and condition of the car before we got underway. At one point the three of us found this to be so obsessive that we mutinied against him. Looking back I realize that he, as he always was, was just being responsible and making sure we were all safe. It’s astounding to say that I have known Bill for over half a century and I can’t quite wrap my mind around the thought that he is no longer here.
May Rosemary and the entire family find Peace, Solace, and Love during these difficult days.
With love,
Hans & Heidi

I worked with Bill for nearly 15 years at Deloitte. I could never have had the career and success I had without his patience and mentorship.
He told me the best way to approach the 5 boro bike tour.
My heart is full with his memory and broken for your loss. May the memories of his beautiful soul help you heal from his loss.
With deepest sympathy, Christine (Vena) Lott

Big Bill was the best. Simply put. While his stature was tall and strong, he had a quiet and calm demeanor that made everyone feel instantly at ease. He always welcomed me into their homes (even with my rambunctious children).
I will never forget the time that Victoria and I got stuck out on the LI Sound on one of their sailboats. Of course, he was there to rescue us and provide us with a much-needed life lesson.
I will cherish the memories I have of Bill (and Rosemary) forever: a tub of whipped butter at the dinner table, toasted cheese and tomato sandwiches when we were hungry after swimming, laughing in the Hamptons and most importantly, a warm, loving home.
Rest In Peace, Bill. You will be missed forever.
Love, Erica (Schor) Gonzalez and family

Bill will be greatly missed. When Reno and I first moved to East Island 21 years ago, Bill and Rosemary were one of the first to make us feel welcome. They welcomed us into their home and this community. I will miss seeing him working on his property, riding his bike around the island, giving his grandson a ride on his lawnmower. He always had a warm welcome for everyone and a friendly word to share. Reno and I extend our heartfelt condolences to his family!
