I’ve known Mr. Chiu since I was in 1st grade. He instantly took me in as one of his own and mentored me throughout my scouting career. I could not thank him enough for everything he has done for myself, my family and troop 176.

Our deepest condolences for the loss of this genuinely gracious and kind man. Over the years he helped numerous scouts in their pursuit of Eagle , offered his experience in Finance as our treasurer and gave freely his time .When we think of all the interactions we had with him over the years I can’t recall a time he was not smiling or offering words of encouragement. These traits are never so evident than to look at his children and the solid bond with his wife Carolyn. Our family will pray for you all and sincerely offer our condolences for your loss. Sunny was such a happy man, I dont believe I ever saw him without a smile on his face. Definitely made things in Troop 176 a lot brighter and an all around great environment. I'm very sorry to hear about his passing, my deepest condolences.

Sending my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Sunny. I first met Sunny while being a part of Boy Scout troop 176 with Nick. Throughout our camping trips, Sunny was the type of person that made everyone feel like their dad was there when other dads couldn’t make it. Thank you Sunny for making me feel at home when I was home sick, thank you for all the lessons taught and being a role mode for all of us. Lukas Corso

Our deepest condolences. It was an honor to work with Sunny in the Scout troop over the past 5 years. He and his wonderful family were a deciding factor in our decision to join the troop.; His continued work in the troop, with myself, Ryan, Dylan made the experiences very positive and life changing.
