Roslyn first came to Kibbutz Ein-Shemer as a volunteer dental hygienist in the 1980s along with her beloved Leon. They, and then she alone after his passing, returned a number of times to Israel and to the kibbutz. We became good friends, despite a 20-year age difference. We met once in NYC, probably in 2000, and spent a great day at a museum. After she stopped coming to Israel we used to talk in the phone; one or the other of us would call every year to wish a happpy Rosh haShana and Pessach. She was a memorable person: vivacious, optimistic, intelligent, warm and open. I loved her and will miss her. Ruthie Ben-Mayor
