Cousins Volpe,
Those were the days! Good times, laughter and lots of mischief all in good fun!
Playing Ringolevio and kickball in the street in front of Grandma & Grandpa's house until it got dark every summer,
Rest in Peace Cousin Tara.
Love, Peace & Prayers to you all.
Love, Cousin Laurie

With tremendous sadness I write to honor and cherish my sister Tara who has passed from this life much too young. My siblings, her children and our entire family are grief stricken and anguished but we must remain positive and remember that Tara has finally found peace. Tara was originally one of 5, the middle child between Michael, Beth, P.J. and John; later joined by Cassie, Jason and Anna. Our early years were joyous, fun, loving and adventurous as we pranced and played with the Volpe and Maher clans in and around Glen Cove. I remember Tara to be mischievous, sassy and always branching out to explore new things. As we all grew and passed through our teen years and into early adulthood, Tara encountered difficulties and extremely hard times but she always remained positive looking for the good in people and in life. Over the years even as problems persisted and grew, Tara routinely asked about and expressed concern for our well being. She was genuinely interested in our spouses, significant others, our children and our extended families and friends. She did this often and usually without caring enough for herself and without having inner peace in her own life. The greatest attributes of Tara were her steadfast devotion and love to her children — Alexandra, Elizabeth and Max. To Tara, the children were all that mattered and she would do anything for them. In the last few weeks after Tara’s accident and while she was hospitalized, the children rallied to cherish and care for their mother. Ultimately, they helped her find the one thing she sorely missed in life — peace for herself. Our family is proud of the children and we are thankful that Tara is now at peace.
Rest In Peace,
Michael Volpe

I was so sorry to learn of the accident and later death of Tara. My brother Joe (Chip) and his daughter Lisa have kept me posted about this tragic news. May Tara and her family know that the Volpes in Northern Virginia are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. I am sorry I will not be able to attend the viewing or funeral service this week but blessings to all who are able to attend.

I see your face with twinkling eyes, hear the throaty laughter, and remember your mischievous looks as the young Volpes, (Michael, Lisa, Laurie, Tara, PJ and John) played in the days of your youth. Tara, you are now in the arms of the angels, protected and loved just for being you. I cherish those memories with love and know that you will continue to smile down on your children and siblings. May you always be surrounded with love. Aunt Joan

Many memories, the most vivid being sweet and fond - the twinkle in Tara’s eyes, the candor of her smile, her ease and joy of life. May the angels receive thee into paradise: may the martyrs receive thee at thy coming, and lead thee into the holy city of Jerusalem. May the choir of angels receive thee, and mayest thou have eternal rest with Lazarus, who once was poor.
