My deepest sympathy and condolences to Michael and the entire family. I worked with Fred for many, many years in the hearing aid industry and he was a pleasure to work with. I am so saddened by this news and will miss him. I said many prayers for him over the past few months as we spoke frequently and I admired his strength to continue working every day until the end even though he wasn't feeling well. God Bless you Fred. You will be missed.

My dearest condolences to the family of Dr. Frederick Ruffen may is soul Rest In Peace. I worked in his Glen Cove office for 20 years and it was a pleasure working with Dr. Ruffen he’s the best boss ever! I’m so grateful to have been there with the family up to his last breath on Friday. It was a sad situation but he’s in a good place now! He will be missed!

Fred and I worked together for over 20 years, he was not only my mentor but my friend. I feel luck to have had him in my life for as long as I did. He always had a wonderful way about him and his patients and coworkers all adored him. I will miss our Friday lunches and all of his wonderful advice throughout the years. He will be terribly missed, there will never be another like him. My condolences go out to his family.

I had a good pleasure of meeting Fred about four years ago here at NUMC. I remember him as a quiet well dressed respected man. His contribution to the hearing impaired was outstanding. He’ll certainly be missed by his patients staff and colleagues. My sincere condolences to Fred’s family and friends. God bless.

Fred and I are first cousins and three months apart in age, and we spent a great deal of time together as children. The many memories I have of Fred and all our times together will always remain in my heart. It is difficult to express in words the profound sense of loss that I am feeling. Fred fought a long and courageous battle against cancer and tried his best to carry on with his life and career despite his illness. My husband Bill and I extend our sincerest condolences to all of Fred's loved ones, and know that we send our special thoughts and prayers out at this difficult time. With much love, Fran Hilliard
