Vinny was one of a kind. When I interviewed him for SP work at NYCOM (pre-NYIT-COM), he turned it around and started to interview me! What would I like to be called, what did I like about our work, how did I get into SP work - it was completely disarming. He had that balance of the serious and the comic, and was a provided an antidote to the difficult challenge of SP work.
Rest in Peace Vinny. Further proof that the good die young.

I met Vinny three months ago when I started working at Westbury theatre. My son Thomas has been working there for the past four years and would talk about Vinny all the time. Thomas loved Vinny and from the moment I met him I could see why. The theater is like a family,& from the start Vinny made me feel like a part of that family . Working in the kitchen I was fortunate to see Vinny every show. He was so kind and funny and always made me laugh. Although I only knew him a short time he definitely left an impression and I will miss him very much.

My heart goes out to Vinny’s family, and I want to thank you for sharing him with the Theatre at Westbury family for all those years. Vinny was the coworker who made it less tough to work a long shift. Vinny was the person who asked you how you were doing and genuinely wanted to know. Every person who met and knew him, for either a minute or years, knew what a special, warm, truly funny and genuine person Vinny was. This loss is just tremendous. He will be so missed, and his memory cherished. Love, Sarah Weissman Ramalhete

I met Vincent four years ago when I first started teaching DPR (Doctor-Patient-Relations) at NYITCOM and he was one of the first "patients" my group and I interviewed. His personality and sense of humor endeared him so much to me that I always kept hoping he would be the one my students interviewed and was always so pleased to see him in their video encounter. For some reason, he always brought out a huge smile in me and I was looking forward to seeing him again in an encouter before this semester ends.
The news of his passing so suddenly is devastating to hear. Words cannot express the deep sorrow I feel that I will not see him again, but be assured that he will live in my heart always, and bring a smile to my face every time I think of him. With my deepest, sincerest sympathy for your loss, Dr. Maria Levada.

Vinny, I don't remember NYITCOM before you were hired and can't imagine it without you. I will miss you, our "as a friend" chats, and your ALL CAPS texts. As busy as you were, you always made time to check in with others and acknowledge their life's moments. Thank you. Keep talking!
Joan, Samantha, Victoria, and the rest of the family, please accept my sincere condolences. You may or may not know much about all those that worked with your husband/dad/son/brother... but we all know about you through Vinny's wonderful stories.
Forever in my heart, Lisa

I lost a good friend suddenly this past week. It was so unexpected and such a shock. Vinny and I worked together for 9+ years at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine on the campus of the New York Institute of Technology working with medical students. It was a rewarding job which we both enjoyed. We always kept in touch with each other for holidays and life events. We had lots in common with each other between our jobs and our love of Family. He was a smart, caring, hardworking and friendly guy. Vinny was so quick witted and funny, that I would encourage him to try out standup comedy. He would have been amazing at it, but Vinny was content to just connect with others through his kindness and his humor. Vinny, you left us all too soon and you will be missed.
My sincere condolences to his wife, Joan, his daughters, granddaughter, Father and to the rest of his Family and Friends. May Vinny Rest In Peace.

I met Vinny when I started working at the Westbury Theatre in 2018. It was my first job and I was so nervous to work with everybody, but Vinny was so quick to make you feel comfortable and included in the theatre family.
He was sweet, caring, generous and so funny with the things he would say to make you laugh.
Vinny would always give me money from his tips and it always meant so much to me. On nights that weren’t as busy he’d apologize that he didn’t have anything to give me when he never even had to give me anything in the first place.
As much as I love working at the theatre it’ll never be the same without Vinny.

I had the pleasure to work with Vinny at Bacon Theatre for almost 4 years, and every shift with him was beyond enjoyable. He was truly the life of the party. We gossiped and laughed the whole time ( our favorite at front bar with Janet) and got to know each other. His stories were the best, he was extremely proud of his new granddaughter, showing her off the whole time. He always had a compliment, a nice, encouraging word for me, and I will never forget him for that. He will be missed greatly at the beacon, as he was a huge part of our family. Love you Vinny, forever ❤️

We are sorry to hear about the passing of Vincent. My family and I served him for many years at (the original) Ralph's pizzeria. It was always a joy to see him walk through our doors. He always had a smile on his face and brightened our day.

My Dream About Vinny on Monday Night - 11/21/2022:
I was back at NYIT-COM as Administrator on Duty, orienting and supporting programs in the hallway of our simulation center. Vinny was taking a long time debriefing a student, as usual - always eager to help and connect with each student personally, and I had to knock on the door to move us along. In the dream, when he opened the door, and I looked at his face, I knew he was deceased. I knew I was dreaming. I knew this was my last conversation with him. I just smiled at his big energy and love of connection as he talked to me about Thanksgiving plans and asked how I was in the sincere, engaging way he always did.
It was beautiful to be able to say goodbye. I believe it was a message to all of us. ♥️
I had the honor of working with Vinny for 10 years as a Standardized Patient. He always said I was his first friend at NYIT-COM, and watching me do a case before he accepted the job convinced him that this was an interesting process to be apart of. I’m glad I was able to do that for him. When I left NYIT-COM last year, he gave me a present, Sangria (a man after my own heart) and a beautiful card. He was a special man who loved in a big way, always eager to spread joy. That’s how I will remember him always. He will be sorely missed by many.
Sending love to his family. How proud of you he was! As he took the time to visit me in that dream to say goodbye, I know he will always be with you.♥️

I had the pleasure of working with Vinny at NYIT-COM. He was one of the first SPs I ever met and he welcomed me to the sim lab with a smile. He was funny, kind hearted and always seemed to look at the bright side. I never met his family but felt like I knew them from all the wonderful things he used to say. I will miss him. My sincerest condolences to all his family and friends.
