Gahagan, Walter “Terry” Hamer II, age 61, passed away on September 3, 2024, at the Glen Cove Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on January 31, 1963, to William and Katharine (DuPont) Gahagan, Terry was the youngest of four brothers. After graduating from Merrimack College, he pursued a career in electronics, creating wonderful experiences for people through his work at Advanced Animation and at his own company, The Next Level.
Terry co-owned Champ Car Wash with his brothers, and that is what led him to Burlington, VT. There, he met his beloved wife, Kathleen Caldwell Gahagan. Together, they built a happy life filled with joy, adventure, and most importantly, family.
Terry’s life was characterized by his passion for his beloved family and friends and his zest for living. Despite enduring significant challenges, including a battle with cancer and severe complications from surgery, he faced each day with remarkable strength, and that is what defined him. His outlook on life was a testament to his belief in making the most of every moment.
Terry is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Kathleen Caldwell Gahagan, and their three children, Lili, Walt, and Harry. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family gratefully acknowledges all who have reached out to them during these difficult months. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Glen Cove Hospital in Terry’s honor would be very much appreciated. Click here
